LEO ROARS INTO BUSINESS LIFE
Looking for passion may sound like the start of a lonely hearts advert, but it’s passion for business that LEO Coach, Steve Maxwell, is after. Running for the past two years, LEO Business Coaching is an independent business support service recently set up in South Normanton and Pinxton to help local people start new businesses or grow existing ones. And the service is absolutely free.
Steve explains: “Right now there are people in this community who are working hard at their existing business or have a good idea of a business they want to create. It’s just that both may be facing obstacles that are stopping them moving things forward. It could be problems to do with money, premises, sales, experience or even confidence. Anything really. And LEO is here to help overcome those problems.”
As the LEO Coach Steve will talk through any business issue and then help to work out practical ways of making progress. With twenty years of business experience himself, including setting up and running his own small businesses, Steve may be able to make a direct contribution to tackling the business problem. However, he won’t be working alone.
He adds: “The clever thing about LEO is that I am supported by a network of other business owners, community workers, business support professionals and local residents. I won’t have the solution to every problem myself, but someone in my network probably will. This programme basically believes that in this community there are both entrepreneurs and people who can problem solve. I’m here to make the connection between the two.”
